I recently went to San Francisco for VMworld 2007, and one of the stops I was going to make was over to Alden Shoes. They have a pair of boots that I was after…the Model 405. Now, I heard that these were some comfortable shoes, so I set my expectations really high on these.
I picked these up on a Monday, and wore them out of the store. They were like all other new shoes I’ve ever purchased….tough on my feet. My toes were sore after wearing these shoes walking around for 12 hours. The same thing on Tuesday…12 hours of walking, but my feet were not getting sore… just my toes. Then I went to go see Megadeth at The Warfield. I was down front in the pit, and had a great time. Figured if there was ever a way to break these shoes in, this was it.
After that…these have been the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I wear them all the time. Turns out the orthopedic handmade leather boots are the most comfortable things in the world. Wanted to hand out kudos for these. Alden Shoe Company is located about 40 miles from my home (they’re in Massachusetts), but I had to go to San Francisco to try them on. Worth the wait, and every penny.
