Toughness refers to its hardness and quality as diamonds can cut through glass and can only be scratched by another diamond rubbed into it but will damage both sides. Rarity is another factor because it is being mined through fathom in earth to obtain it.
Created diamonds have been a new trend in fashion as well. Diamonds are vital parts of fashion and it has become more vital with the rise of man made diamonds.
